An additional two individuals have been arrested in connection with a robbery at London's Heathrow Airport in which over twenty individuals sustained injuries by what is thought to be an irritant spray, according to police.
A 24-year-old man, was arrested in Lambeth for suspected theft and assault and a 23-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to commit robbery. Both individuals are still being held, the force said.
The arrests come after a probe into an attack at the multi-storey car park at Heathrow's Terminal 3 this past Sunday. Prior to the attack, two women had stolen from them their suitcases upon exiting a car park lift.
A three-year-old girl was one of the injured in the event. Five people were taken to the hospital for treatment and were later released.
Police detained a man in his thirties for suspected theft and assault near the location. He was subsequently released pending further inquiries while inquiries continue.
Police were called at approximately 08:10 GMT following reports of several individuals hurt by an irritating chemical believed to be an irritant spray.
The attack - an event that authorities stated was a standalone incident and not considered terrorism - resulted in delays to rail services and the partial closure of the main airport tunnel and the T3 car park for a short time.
